One-sided Headache Story

One-sided Headache With Changing Characteristics Over Time

42-year-old female patient, an accountant, had suffered frequent migraine attacks during high school. Afterwards, this frequency was decreased but around middle ages they were back to their old routine.

“My headaches began 10 years ago, when I started working. First it makes my neck stiff and then the pain goes up to my head. Because of this stiffness I had an MRI and it showed that I had neck hernia. Also, headaches were bringing nausea with themselves and I was heaving all the time. Unless I get some rest when the headache comes, nausea and pain stay with me for the next day as well.

It is never on my left side by the way, always on the right affecting my right eye. When I went to see a physician, he told me that there was nothing wrong with me. Every doctor I have visited for my headaches prescribed me different drugs and none of them worked.

Actually, I had headaches during high school too but someday it began not happening that often. However, almost 10 years ago they came back with some differences. For example, back then the pain was just on one-side but now, sometimes my whole head throbs. Also, I never had nauseas before but now I do. My migraine keeps getting severe and the drugs cannot help me anymore.”

The remarkable thing in this patient was nausea. Also, the neck was added to the picture. The cause of migraine on this patient was her wisdom teeth in high school years. Then, after she cut her wisdom teeth, attacks had become less frequent due to decreasing stimulation. But recently, since another interference field (C-section scars) and clenching were added to the picture, the attacks have begun causing nausea as well.
