What Causes Neck, Back and Lower Back Pain?
8 out of 10 persons suffer from neck, back or low back pain (i.e. spinal pain) once in their lifetime. This makes it the second reason for workforce loss after headaches. Pain is usually resulted from muscles and since muscles recover quickly, it goes away in days. In just 10-15% cases it becomes chronic or recurrent.
These pains, usually occurring in a certain position, are thought to be resulting from long working hours sitting at a computer, poor posture, sudden movements, wind exposure, wrong pillows etc. However, these compelling situations are not the real cause.
Stress is another remarkable condition in these patients. Distressing environments increase the pain. Stress affects these patients in two ways: causing spasms on the spine and increasing clenching. A person stressed during the day, tends to clench at night more. This clenching does not only affect masseter but all the muscles, since they are all connected. Hence it also affects spinal muscles.
Since neck, back and low back pains are resulted within the body itself; external factors like poor posture or sudden movements should not be blamed.
In the evaluations made with Gokmen Approach, it was seen that the musculoskeletal system is weak and there are imbalances on the spine in these patients. So, when encountered with a compelling situation, their body cannot handle it and comes the pain.
Treatment begins with applying neural therapy on the painful area and the interference field. Then, the body balance is improved. With these two combined, great results are obtained. There still might be some problems but the spine pain never keeps the patient away from daily life and hence, life quality is improved.
