Various Things May Cause Neck and Back Pains
There are a lot of people who have a pain spreading to the upper part of the back, starting on the neck. Many people think that these are caused by the air conditioner at the office or their poor posture and just ignore them. They do not visit any physicians until the pain becomes a regular thing, and stiff neck and numbness in the arm are added to the picture.
First thing to do in these cases is to look for a neck hernia in an MRI. If so, the hernia is accepted as the reason and patients are suggested to take physiotherapy. In short term, drugs and physiotherapy really relieve the patient but in years to come, the pain increases and the clinical picture goes worse.
Well, what are the real reasons of those ignored pain then?
The Reasons of Neck and Back Pain (Known)
- Temporary Muscle Injuries: Mostly caused by the posture.
- The neck is either too high or too low while sleeping (mostly when the individual falls asleep in front of the TV)
- Working for long hours in the same position (mostly in front of a computer)
- Pushing the muscles too much while doing yoga, plates or any other exercise.
- Neck Hernia: If the hernia touches the nerve, it causes a severe spasm.
- Fibromyalgia: Soft tissue rheumatism, the most typical symptom of which is neck/back pain.
- Arthritis: This, and other diseases affecting the joints, cause damage in the cervical and dorsal vertebra.
- Whiplash: Mostly caused by car accidents.
- Neck fractures: These can be caused by accidents or fallings or osteoporosis.
- Tumors: Mostly because the cancer in the other parts (breasts, lungs, etc.) has spread to vertebra.
- Heart attack: Rarely it may show itself with neck pain. Also sweating, palpitation, nausea and distress may accompany.
- Cerebral mantle inflammatory like meningitis, and tetanus can cause stiffness in the neck.
The Reasons of Neck and Back Pain (Real and Unknown)
The reasons listed above like accidents and tumors are so rare. Thus, in most of the patients, one should look for the reasons in other areas.
If we can identify those areas called interference fields in neural therapy with the help of Gokmen Approach, we can find the reasons of the pain.
- Collagen tissue may be weak. This can be cured by fixing the corresponding interference field. Also, this causes contractions in the muscles between the neck and shoulders.
- Clenching may cause spasms that are reflecting from neck and back muscles.
- You may get used to missing teeth, high fillings and misaligned prosthetics easily, however your body cannot. And these might cause spasms in your back and neck.
- Gynecological interferences cause contractions in the neck and form bumps in the nape. You may think “It is a far cry” but once you think about it, you will see the connection. Contractions become more frequent after abortions, C-sections and intrauterine devices.
